Suguru Geto’s Death Explained

In Jujutsu Kaisen: 0, Suguru Geto was killed by Satoru Gojo after Yuta Okkotsu and his shikigami Rika fatally wounded him with a blast of cursed energy. After the blast didn’t kill him, Geto escaped the scene before being found by his best friend, Satoru Gojo. Gojo was ultimately the one to end his life off-screen.

How Geto Was “Resurrected”

Geto’s body was resurrected by the ancient sorcerer Kenjaku. Since Gojo didn’t dispose of Geto’s body after he killed him, Kenjaku (a thousand-year old sorcerer) was able to transfer his brain into the body and resurrect it, maintaining his own consciousness while giving him the abilities Geto once bore. This meant that Kenjaku was able to use Geto’s cursed technique, Cursed Spirit Manipulation.^{[3]

- Cursed Spirit Manipulation allows the user to manipulate and command cursed spirits to their whim.
- Kenjaku’s innate technique is body-hopping, which allows him to switch bodies with anyone so long as he replaces their brain with his. This is why Geto (and anyone else Kenjaku possesses) has stitches on their forehead.

Suguru Geto was a Special Grade Sorcerer who turned against the Jujutsu society. Before Gojo was the strongest, he was best friends with Suguru Geto, a powerful sorcerer and Jujutsu High student with the ability to control and command curses as he pleased. During the events of Jujutsu Kaisen: 0, however, Geto saw Gojo elevate to the strongest, a friend get murdered by a non-sorcerer, and ultimately turned against the world of Jujutsu.^{[4]

Suguru Geto as we know him doesn’t return, but Kenjaku does control his body. The last we saw of Suguru Geto was when Gojo mercy killed him. There were glimpses that his soul was still trying to fight back after having his body taken by Kenjaku, as his arm choked the ancient sorcerer during the Shibuya Incident, but after that, he’s never seen again (in the world of the living, that is).^{[5]
