Satoru Gojo is the world’s most powerful jujutsu sorcerer in Jujutsu Kaisen, and some would argue that he’s also the most attractive. But despite his good looks, Gojo doesn’t have a love interest… or does he? Many fans speculate that he had a romantic relationship with Suguru Geto, leading to questions about his sexuality. In this article, we’ll explain whether Gojo’s sexuality has been confirmed, as well as why people think he is or isn’t gay. Warning: JJK spoilers ahead.

What is Gojo’s sexuality in JJK?

Satoru Gojo’s sexuality has not been explicitly stated in Jujutsu Kaisen. Because of his close, complex bond with Suguru Geto, many fans think he could be gay or bisexual. Others argue that he is straight and that the two simply have a close, platonic friendship.

Gojo and Geto have a long, complicated relationship, starting with them meeting in high school and ending with Gojo killing Geto after he became an extremist. Between these two events, though, they developed a deep friendship in which they pushed each other to grow and learned to trust each other. Since they were so close, many fans suspect their relationship was more than platonic.

   • Gojo describes Geto as his “one and only friend,” and many interpret their emotional dependency as romantic undertones in their relationship.

   We don’t know Gojo’s final words to Geto. Following Geto’s defeat in Jujutsu Kaisen 0, he is confronted by Gojo. Geto says, “You should at least curse me at the end,” but Gojo’s response is censored in both the manga and the anime. Creator Gege Akutami stated that Gojo’s reply is hidden somewhere in Volume 0, leading some fans to believe he said “I love you,” confessing his romantic feelings.

In one oft-cited interview,Jujutsu Kaisen’s creator Gege Akutami stated that he could not picture Gojo being serious about or faithful to one woman. Some fans use Akutami’s comments to support their theory that Gojo is gay, while others believe Akutami simply meant that Gojo is attracted to women but is a playboy who can’t commit.
