Learn how to win over Dispatch’s invisible heroine, Invisigal
PDF download Download Article

Do you have a soft spot for Dispatch’s delightfully surly villain-turned-hero, Invisigal (or Visi, as she’s affectionately called)? You’re certainly not alone. Invisigal is one of the game’s two possible romance options, and successfully romancing her ultimately comes down to building trust (as well as selecting a few crucial dialogue choices). In this guide, we’ll walk you through the Invisigal romance episode by episode, and show you how to unlock the best possible ending with her, too!

An Overview of the Invisigal Romance in Dispatch

Invisigal is Dispatch’s cynical heroine-in-training.To romance her, you’ll need to build trust by completing hacking sequences, as well as supporting her and encouraging her to be a hero. You can lock in the romance by going to the movies with her in Episode 4 and saying “I had a good time” in Episode 5.

  1. The most important part of this mission in terms of Invisigal’s romance is supporting Visi’s actions after she disobeys orders to protect Granny. She’ll still end up punching you during an argument afterward—and after she does, do NOT tell Blonde Blazer about it (just choose any other dialogue option).[1]
    • Additionally, complete the hacking sequences successfully during the donut shop mission to build trust with Visi (it’s important!)
    • When Invisigal starts making crude jokes during the mission, don’t shut her down. Instead, say “Yep, you got me…”
  2. Just like the previous episode, Invisigal’s romance doesn’t actually begin here—but there are more crucial trust-building opportunities to pursue. During the boss fight with Lightningstruck, you’ll have the chance to do a “Help Invisigal” hacking sequence minigame. Complete this hacking sequence successfully, and you’ll gain significant trust with Visi.[2]
    • If you fail the sequence, Invisigal will handle things by herself—and if you don’t try it at all, you’ll damage her trust in you.

  3. During Episode 4, Invisigal will confess to having a romantic dream about Robert (“I had a dream last night that we were…”). Then, later, you’ll have a choice between pursuing some downtime with Invisigal or Blonde Blazer; be sure to pick the [MOVIE WITH INVISIGAL] option, as this will initiate the romance![3]
  4. Luckily, locking in Visi’s romance is pretty straightforward—there’s a single dialogue option that’ll seal the deal. During the team’s bar meetup, Visi will approach you to talk about the movie date. You MUST choose the “I had a good time” option to lock in the romance; any other dialogue option will cut it off.
  5. Earlier in Episode 6, you’ll get a sweet dance scene between Invisigal and Robert at his apartment! Be sure to say “Thanks guys” when talking to Invisigal, Malevola, and Royd at the housewarming party. Then, during the Astral Pulse mission, Invisigal will defy orders (again), and you’ll need to use hacking sequences to help her; complete them successfully to cement Invisigal’s trust in Robert.
    • Before the mission, when you discuss storming the docks, choose the dialogue options “We go tonight,” followed by “Back off, Chase”.
  6. When the team is gathered in the conference room, choose the [DEFEND HER] option—and do NOT cut Invisigal from the team. Then, when she talks to you in the locker room, choose the following dialogue options in this order:[4]
    • “I care about you.”
    • “I forgive you.”
    • [LEAN IN] (When she moves to kiss Robert)
  7. In this episode, Royd declares Invisigal a traitor and restrains her in his room before leaving. Then, Robert will get the chance to talk with her. During the confrontation, choose “Why didn’t you tell me?” and, after that, opt to untie her with the option [FREE HER].
    • That’s the last option affecting your romantic relationship with Invisigal in the game.
    • With that, you’ve successfully romanced her—and, if you unlock the “Good Mentor” ending, you’ll also get a happy ending (and a kiss) to go with your Invisigal romance.
    • See the section below for more tips on achieving the “Good Mentor” ending in Dispatch.

Getting the “Good Mentor” Ending with Invisigal

  1. The key to winning over Invisigal and inspiring her to be a hero is building up trust points over the course of the game. A lot of that can be done by completing hacking sequences (which is crucial), but there are several dialogue options that contribute as well. Here’s a rundown of each action that grants trust points:[5]
    • Onboard (Episode 2): Complete the hacking sequences in the Donut Shop. (+1)
    • Turnover (Episode 3):
      • Say “This could make the difference” before the Jewelry Shop heist. (+1)
      • Complete the hacking sequences in the Jewelry Shop. (+4)
    • Restructure (Episode 4): Say “Thought we already were” [friends] at the movies. (+1)
    • Team Building (Episode 5):
      • Win the QTE (quick time event) challenges during the flashback. (+4)
      • Tell everyone about being Mecha Man. (+5)
    • Moving Parts (Episode 6):
      • Say “Thanks, guys” at the party. (+1)
      • Take Invisigal’s side at the party by saying “We go tonight.” (+1)
      • If you don’t tell Chase to “back off” at the party, say, “He doesn’t mean that.” (+1)
      • Complete the hacking sequences to get the Astral Pulse. (+6)
    • Retrospective (Episode 7):
      • Defend Invisigal in front of the team instead of cutting her. (+5)
      • Mention Track Star on the news, not Invisigal.
    • Synergy (Episode 8):
      • Choose [FREE HER] and untie Invisigal. (+5)
      • Spare Shroud instead of killing him.
  2. Do these dispatch calls with Invisigal, and (of course) aim for success—you’ll get +1 trust point per successful dispatch. Additionally, complete enough dispatch calls to unlock Invisigal’s second power via training with Blonde Blazer. Sending Visi to Blazer for training will net you another +5 trust points![6]
  3. Gaining trust points with Invisigal really hinges on completing hacking sequences successfully—so, if you’re worried (or don’t have the reflexes), you can simply enable Cinematic QTE and Unlimited Hacking in Dispatch’s settings. This will make it impossible for you to fail a hacking sequence, which in turn will make it easier to build Visi’s trust.

  1. However, her power is a little unique: she can only become (and remain) invisible while holding her breath. As she also has asthma, that makes her power sometimes difficult to control. Beyond that, Invisigal is a bit of a lone wolf; she believes her powers dictate her destiny, and that she is a flawed individual who will inevitably fall into villainy—but, throughout the game, she can be inspired to embrace heroism.[7]

Who are the romance options in Dispatch?

  1. As Robert, players will have the opportunity to pursue one (or both) of these romances in the game, though ultimately they’ll have to choose a path. Invisigal is definitely the more volatile and intense personality, whereas Blazer is more mature and traditionally “heroic.”
    • Some players prefer Visi’s romance because it unfolds naturally as part of the game’s central plot and is more emotionally engaging.
    • Others prefer Blazer’s romance as the more grounded and stable option.
    • Ultimately, both romances are pretty popular among players—and choosing Invisigal or Blazer (or nobody) is a matter of personal opinion.
