Everything you need to know about Dispatch’s romance options
PDF download Download Article

Dispatch has quickly taken off as an incredible mashup between slice-of-life workplace comedy and superhero epic. Navigating relationships with your coworkers is a big part of the narrative—and that also involves romantic entanglements! But, in case you aren’t sure what the romance options are (or how to pursue relationships with them), we’re here to help. In this article, we’ll explore the romance paths for Dispatch’s two romantic leads: Blonde Blazer and Invisigal. Let’s get started!

A Quick Look at Dispatch’s Romance Options

Dispatch has two romance options: Blonde Blazer and Invisigal. Blazer’s romance is more stable and emotionally mature, while Invisigal’s is a slow burn with lots of intensity and turbulence. You can lock in both romances during episode 4, choosing to go to dinner with Blazer or a movie with Visi.

  1. These are the two characters with whom Robert can potentially develop a romantic relationship in Dispatch. Blonde Blazer is the fearless leader of SDN’s Torrance branch, and Invisigal is the lone wolf villain-turned-hero on SDN’s “Z-Team.” Both romances are rewarding in different ways and play out over the course of Dispatch’s 8-episode arc.[1]
    • Blazer’s romance starts earlier, during episode 1, whereas Invisigal’s romance officially starts in episode 4.

How to Romance Blonde Blazer in Dispatch

  1. If you plan to romance Blonde Blazer, there are several key choices you’ll have to make throughout each episode of Dispatch, starting from the very first. Not every choice is totally mandatory, but all of them will either boost your relationship with Blazer or steer your connection down a romantic path—so it’s best to choose them all. Here’s how to romance her:[2]
    • Episode 1, “Pivot”
      • In the bar with Blazer, choose “I like helping people.”
      • On the billboard, choose [KISS HER].
    • Episode 2, “Onboarding”
      • In the conference room, while changing, select “I’ll take your lead.”
      • When meeting Phenomaman at the end of the episode, choose “Sorry, I already ate,” or “Gotta get home to my dog.”
    • Episode 3, “Turnover”
      • When Blazer tells you about her breakup, choose, “I’m sorry, Blazer.”
      • After Blazer tells you her plan to cut a member of the Z-Team, say, “I like it.”
    • Episode 4, “Restructure”
      • When Blazer asks you how she looks, say, “Incredible.”
      • When prompted to choose between dinner with Blazer or a movie with Invisigal, select [DINNER WITH BLAZER].
      • While at dinner with Blazer, select [KISS HER].
    • Episode 5, “Team Building” - No relevant choices
    • Episode 6, “Moving Parts”
      • At the housewarming party, choose “Make a plan first.”
    • Episode 7, “Retrospective” - No relevant choices
    • Episode 8, “Synergy”
      • When Blazer decides to go out in the field, select “Just come back.”

How to Romance Invisigal in Dispatch

  1. For Invisigal’s romance—or Visi, as she’s called for short—you’ll want to pick dialogue options that support her journey as a hero. Unlike Blazer, big choices for Invisigal only really happen in later episodes; before episode 4, the main thing to keep in mind is successfully completing hacks during Invisigal’s two big missions (the donut shop and jewelry store). From there, here’s how to romance her:[3]
    • Episode 4, “Restructure”
      • When prompted to choose between dinner with Blazer or a movie with Invisigal, choose [MOVIE WITH INVISIGAL].
    • Episode 5, “Team Building”
      • At the bar, when Visi brings up the movie date, choose “I had a good time.”
    • Episode 6, “Moving Parts”
      • At the housewarming party, choose “We go tonight.”
    • Episode 7, “Retropective”
      • In the conference room, when the Z-Team requests to cut Invisigal, choose [DEFEND HER].
      • In the locker room, when Invisigal tells you about her past, choose “I forgive you.”
      • In the locker room, when Invisigal kisses you, choose [LEAN IN].
    • Episode 8, “Synergy”
      • In Royd’s lab, when Invisigal tells you to untie her, choose [FREE HER].

What are the romances like in Dispatch?

PDF download Download Article
  1. As a character, Blazer is a classic superhero: confident, poised, and forthcoming. Her romance is definitely the more mature and emotionally stable one, but that doesn’t mean it’s shallow. Blazer (or Mandy, as you’ll later learn) still has a lot going on under the surface, and as the romance progresses, you’ll see her more vulnerable side emerge.[4]
    • Blazer has a really steadfast moral compass and is a more consistent person in general, making her romance the “safer” choice.
  2. Robert’s romance with Invisigal is woven into a potential redemption arc for her as she tries to leave the villain life behind and become a hero, despite her own intense self-doubts. Because of her turbulent past and personality, Invisigal’s romance is more of a slow-burning and sometimes gets quite chaotic, but it has plenty of emotional depth.[5]
    • Some players prefer Invisigal’s romance because her entire story is more connected with the overarching plot.
  3. Regardless of who you choose to romance in episode 4, the game will show you that progress is being made in episode 6, during Robert’s housewarming party. If you’ve been successful in romancing either Blazer or Invisigal up to that point, the character in question will pull Robert in for a dance.
    • You can’t choose to dance with either character—a scene will simply play, with Robert’s love interest opting to dance with him. That’s how you’ll know you’re on the right track!

Which romance should you choose in Dispatch?

PDF download Download Article
  1. Basically, there’s no “should”; you’re totally free to choose whichever character you feel more of a connection with—or opt for no romances at all, if that’s what you prefer! While your choice of romance will affect certain scenes throughout the game, it won’t change the ending you get or the overall plot.
    • Don’t feel like you have to choose a romance; again, the overall plot won’t change, just certain scenes (to reflect your relationships with the characters).
    • Romance can help you build bonds with Invisigal or Blazer, but you can also establish strong friendships with them instead.

Are there any other potential love interests in Dispatch?

PDF download Download Article
  1. Assuming Dispatch gets a new “season” or more episodes in the future, additional love interests might also be added—but nothing is confirmed. While Dispatch did very well, developer AdHoc has yet to officially greenlight another season (as the studio is currently working on a different project for Critical Role).
    • What is confirmed is that a second season of Dispatch is definitely being seriously discussed at AdHoc.
    • And, if it happens, it seems likely that the current romances will be explored even further (and more could possibly be introduced).
  2. Some have expressed interest in other members of the Z-Team, like Malevola or Flambae—but Invisigal is the only member of the Z-Team who can be romanced, at least in the first season of Dispatch. Additionally, some players wonder if there are any male romances for Robert (the main character), but all current romance options—Blazer and Visi—are female.
