Currently, the best pickaxe in The Forge is the Arcane Pickaxe. But how exactly do you get this ethereal, glowing pickaxe? Thankfully, it's not too hard to get this pickaxe, but you will need to complete a quest for the Bard in Stonewake's Cross, and you'll also need a decent amount of money to buy it. Keep reading to learn how to get the Arcane Pickaxe in The Forge.

Quick Steps

1. Speak to the Bard in Stonewake's Cross and accept his quest.
2. Enter the Secret Cave in the Stonewake's Cross cave system.
3. Take the Lost Guitar and return it to the Bard.
4. Enter the Stonewake's Cross cave system again.
5. Find the large iron gate and unlock it with the key you got from the Bard.
6. Enter the cave and purchase the Arcane Pickaxe.

How to Get the Arcane Pickaxe

   Talk to the Bard in Stonewake's Cross. He can be found near the campfire by the Potion shop. The Bard has shaggy brown hair, and he's holding a brown acoustic guitar, so he's pretty easy to spot.

   Accept the Bard's quest to find his Lost Guitar. You'll need to complete this quest in order to get the Arcane Pickaxe.

   Go to the Secret Cave. The Lost Guitar is located in the Secret Cave, which is within Stonewake's Cross cave system. Here's how to find it:

   • Enter the cave from the Stonewake's Cross spawn.
   • Walk southeast until you see Nord and Umut the Brave.
   • Turn left at Nord and Umut the Brave.
   • Check for greenery on the wall near the second pebble or the first wooden pillar.
   • Walk into the greenery.
   • Fall through the gap to enter the Secret Cave.

   Pick up the Lost Guitar. The guitar will be next to an Undead NPC. To grab the guitar, unequip your current weapon or pickaxe so your hands are empty, then interact with the guitar.

   Return to the Bard. Climb the wooden ladder to exit the Secret Cave, then exit the cave system to return to Stonewake's Cross. Once you return to the Bard, speak with him to turn in the Lost Guitar and complete the quest.

   • The Bard will give you an Unknown Key. This key is used to unlock the gate in the Fallen Angel's Cave, which is where the Arcane Pickaxe is located.

   Go back into the Stonewake's Cross cave. Enter the cave system from the Stonewake's Cross spawn point.

   Find the Fallen Angel's Cave. Follow these steps to find it:

   • Turn right once you're in the Stonewake's Cross cave system.
   • Follow this path going east until it splits.
   • Take the first path on the right. This should bring you to a massive iron gate, which is the entrance to the Fallen Angel's Cave.

   Use the Unknown Key to open the gate. You will be able to enter the cave, which is where the Arcane Pickaxe can be found.

   Purchase the pickaxe. The Arcane Pickaxe costs $125,000 to buy (or $110,000 if you're the Goblin race). If you don't have enough money, you can always return later to purchase the pickaxe, as it won't go away after you've found it.
