On TikTok, when someone reposts your video, they are sharing it with their audience. It is a great way to share content you love and boost your favorite creators. However, if you don't want people to be able to repost your videos, some users can disable reposts. If you accidentally reposted a video you didn’t mean to, you can delete the repost. Can you turn off reposts on TikTok?

Most TikTok users report not having the option to turn off reposts. However, TikTok may be slowly rolling out the feature to more accounts. If your account can turn off reposts, you can use these steps to do so:

Tap your profile icon.
Go to ☰ > Settings and privacy > Privacy > Repost
Toggle the switch to the Off position.

How to Turn Off Reposts

The ability to turn off reposts is only available to some users. If your TikTok account can turn off reposts, the steps to do so are simple. Just keep in mind that disabling reposts will affect videos that have already been reposted. Here's how to turn them off, if it is available:^{[1]

- Tap the toggle switch to turn Reposts off.

If you don't have the option to stop reposts, ask TikTok to add the feature. There is no guarantee that they will add it to your account, but there is no harm in asking. Here's how:
- Tap your profile icon in the lower-right corner.
- Tap ☰ in the upper-right corner.
- Scroll down and tap Help Center.
- Tap Chat with us at the bottom.
- Enter a message in the text field (i.e., “I can’t disable reposts and would like to add this feature.”
- Tap the Plus (+) icon.

How to Delete a Repost

Tap the Profile icon in the lower-right corner. If you accidentally reposted something or have changed your mind, you can delete your repost. To do so, start by tapping your profile icon in the lower-right corner.

Tap the icon with two arrows in the shape of a square. It’s at the top of your list of videos. This displays all your reposts.

Tap the video you reposted. The video will start to play.

Tap the Share icon
. It’s the curved arrow icon on the right side of the video.

Tap Delete Repost. It’s the yellow icon in the Share menu. This deletes your repost.

How to Stop Seeing Reposts on the FYP

Unfortunately, you can't remove reposts from your For You Page. The videos you see on your FYP are algorithmically generated, and you can't tell TikTok to stop showing you reposts. However, if too many reposts are showing up on your FYP, resetting your algorithm can prevent you from seeing as many reposts. You can also unfollow people who post a bunch of reposts. To prevent people from stitching or duetting your content, turn off content reuse. Disabling reuse of content doesn't disable reposts, but it does limit how others use it. Disabling reuse of content on all of your account or on individual videos only disables stitches, duets, creating stickers with your posts, or adding your posts and comments to other people’s stories.
