Snapchat lets iOS users pin 3 conversations to the top of the chat list, but keeping more friends pinned is easy with a simple workaround. If you have 4 or more people that you want to pin, it’s no problem! Keep reading, and we’ll walk you through the simple steps for pinning conversations, plus we’ll cover how to use Snapchat+ pins if you’re an Android user.

Quick Steps to Pin More Than 3 People on Snapchat

Unpin a conversation if you already have 3 selected.
Set your device to Airplane Mode and turn off the WiFi.
Long-press on a chat you want to pin.
Select Chat and Notification Settings.
Tap on Pin Conversation.
Repeat the process for any number of people to pin.
Turn off Airplane Mode when you’re finished.

Unpin someone if you already have 3 pins. If you already have 3 people pinned at the top of your Snapchat chats, choose one of them and long-press on their name. Select Chat and Notification Settings and then tap on Unpin Conversation to remove them.^{[1]

Pin the people or conversations you want. Reopen Snapchat, and look for the people that you want to pin. Long-press on their name, and select Chat and Notification Settings from the pop-up menu. Then select Pin Conversation from the list of options.^{[4]

- For an alternative way to pin someone, tap on their picture to open their profile, and tap the 3 dots in the top-right corner. Then select Chat and Notification Settings followed by Pin Conversation.
- When you pin a person on Snapchat, your conversation with them appears at the top of your recent chats.
- You can pin as many people as you want while your device is set to Airplane Mode.

Turn WiFi and data back on. Once you’ve pinned all the conversations that you want, open your Settings app and shut off Airplane Mode. Even though you’re reconnected to data and WiFi, you’ll keep all of the pins you just selected at the top of your chat list.

As of February 2026, pinning people or conversations for free is limited to iOS users. However, if you subscribe to Snapchat+, you can pin 1 person as your #1 Best Friend, and they will always appear at the top of your chat list.^{[5]

Sometimes, Snapchat may go offline if you switch into the Settings app, and you won’t be able to pin anyone. While you still have Snapchat open, swipe down from the top-right corner of your screen to open the Control Center. Tap the airplane icon to switch your phone into Airplane Mode. Then, swipe up to close the Control Center and pin your conversations.
If you’re getting an error that you can’t pin anyone else, close the app completely and try reopening it. If that still doesn’t work, delete Snapchat from your device and redownload it from the App Store.

Wait it out if a pinned profile was deleted or blocked. Some Redditors have noted that if someone you had pinned blocked you or deleted their account, an error occurs where you aren’t able to remove them or pin someone new. If other workarounds aren’t working, then it may take around 6 months for the issue to clear up on its own.
