Having an eReader is incredibly helpful. It allows you to take a full library with you wherever you go, and offers lots of customization options to give you the best possible reading experience. However, there are times you may want to print all or part of a book. Unfortunately, Kindle’s digital rights management (DRM) prevents you from printing the book or converting it to another format that can be printed. You can use third-party software to convert the book to a printable PDF, though that also costs a subscription fee. If you want to print part of a book, you can take screenshots of the pages or copy and paste the text into a word processing application and print from there. This wikiHow article teaches you how to print from a Kindle book.

Can you print a Kindle Book?

Amazon Kindle uses digital rights management (DRM) to prevent users from printing and copying books. You can use software, such as Epubor Ultimate, to remove DRM from Kindle Books and convert them to a printable PDF. You can also copy and paste the text into a document or screenshot the pages.

   Download Kindle for PC. Use the following steps to do so:

   • Go to the Kindle download page in a web browser.
   • Click Download for PC & Mac.
   • Open the installation file in your Downloads folder.
   • Follow the prompts to install Kindle for PC.

   Download the books you want to print. Use the following steps to do so:

   • Open Kindle for PC.
   • Click Library.
   • Click the icon with three dots (⋮) below the book you want to download.
   • Click Download.

   Download and install Epubor Ultimate. Epubor Ultimate is an eBook management program that can convert eBooks into different formats and remove DRM, which will allow you to print the books. You will need to purchase a license to view all content from decrypted books. Use the following steps to download and install Epubor Ultimate:

   • Go to www.epubor.com in a web browser.
   • Click For Win to download the Windows version or For Mac to download the Mac version.
   • Click one of the mirror links to start the download.
   • Open the installation file in your Downloads folder.
   • Follow the prompts to complete the installation.

   Purchase a license and register Epubor Ultimate. You’ll need to do this in order to view all the text from decrypted books. It costs $29.99 a year for a license, $59.99 for a five year license, or $109.99 for a lifetime license. Use the following steps to purchase and register Epubor Ultimate:

   • Go to www.epubor.com/ultimate-order.htm in a web browser.
   • Click the plan you want to purchase.
   • Follow the prompts to purchase Epubor Ultimate.
   • Retrieve the registration code from your email.
   • Open Epubor Ultimate.
   • Click the key icon in the upper-right corner.
   • Enter your email and registration code.
   • Click Register.

   Decrypt the book you want to print. You will need to decrypt a book to convert it to a PDF and print it. To do so, open Epubor Ultimate and click the Kindle tab at the top of the menu to the left. It should display the downloaded books in your Kindle Library. Double-click a book to start decrypting it.

   Convert the book to a PDF. To do so, select the book in your library to the left. Then click the pop-up menu at the bottom of the screen. Select PDF. Then click Convert to PDF.

   Open the PDF. To do so, click the icon that resembles a folder in the lower-right corner. Then click the PDF you just created.

   • You may be asked what program you want to open the PDF in. You can select Adobe Acrobat, a web browser, or a third-party PDF viewer.

   Open the Print menu. To do so, press Ctrl + P on PC, or Command + P on Mac.

   Download Kindle for PC. You can take screenshots of different pages of a book and print them. This method works best if you only want to print a few pages and don’t want to spend money. The benefit to this method is it will preserve the text format from the book. The downside is that you will not be able to edit the text. Use the following steps to download Kindle for PC:

   • Go to the Kindle download page in a web browser.
   • Click Download for PC & Mac.
   • Open the installation file in your Downloads folder.
   • Follow the prompts to install Kindle for PC.

   Download the books you want to print. Use the following steps to do so:

   • Open Kindle for PC.
   • Click Library.
   • Click the icon with three dots (⋮) below the book you want to download.
   • Click Download.

   Open the book you want to print. Once the book has been downloaded, simply double click the book to open it.

   Open the page you want to print. You can change pages by clicking the arrow icons on the left and right sides of the pages. You can also click the menu icon, which resembles three lines and three dots, in the upper-left corner to view the table of contents and click the chapter you want to go to.

   Screenshot the page. Use one of the following steps to take a screenshot of the page:

   • Windows: Press Win + Shift + S to open the Snipping Tool. Click the snipping area icon at the top of the screen, which resembles a rectangle. Then select Rectangle. Drag a rectangle around the page you want to capture. Then click Capture at the bottom of the screen.
   • Mac: Press Command + Shift + 4. Then drag a rectangle around the page you want to capture.

   Open the screenshot image. Both Windows and Mac have a default photo viewer called “Photos.” You can also open the screenshot in Paint, Photoshop, or any other image viewer/editor. Double-click the screen shot to open it. Use File Explorer on Windows or Finder on Mac to navigate to the following location:

   • Windows: C:\Users\[username]\Pictures\Screenshots
   • Mac: You can find your screenshots on your desktop.

   Print the image. To print an image, click Ctrl + P (or Command + P) on Mac. Select your printer options. Make sure the image fits within the page. Then click Print.

   • You can also use the Kindle app for iOS or Android and get screenshots on your phone or tablet. Use a WiFi printer to print the captured pages directly from your phone.

You can copy and paste as much text as you want, but Kindle for PC won’t let you copy more than one page at a time. The text formatting most likely will not be the same as the book.   Yes, or if you have a WiFi printer you should be able to just click on your type of printer when you want to print it.
