How to Find a Mangrove Swamp

  1. 1
Look for a biome that Mangrove Swamps spawn next to. There are a number of biomes that typically spawn next to or around a Mangrove Swamp.[1] The following biomes have a chance of spawning next to a Mangrove Swamp:
    • Savannas
    • Most Windswept Savannas
    • Some Forests
    • Some Plains
    • Some Jungles
    • Some Sparse Jungles
    • Some Bamboo Jungles
    • Some Deserts
  2. 2
Look for terrain that would encourage Mangrove Swamp formation. In Minecraft, Mangrove Swamps spawn in areas with flat terrain near sea level and very high erosion values. This is because in real life, mangrove trees help reduce erosion.[2] Mangrove Swamps also never border the ocean, but their water bodies usually connect to the ocean eventually.

Using Chunkbase's Biome Finder

  1. 1
Open Chunkbase's Biome Finder. Chunkbase is a website that can help you locate different structures, biomes, and more in your game's seed or in a random seed.
  2. 2
Paste your world seed into the Biome Finder. If you're an admin and you're playing a Java game, type /seed into the chat to get your realm seed. On Bedrock, you'll need to download a copy of the realm, then go to the realm copy's game settings to find the seed. You can learn how to find your Minecraft seed in-depth in this wikiHow article.
    • Alternatively, you can leave the seed field blank to find a seed that has a Mangrove Swamp close to spawn. To do this, follow the rest of the steps in this article, and we'll let you know when you need to do something different.
  3. 3
Choose your version and dimension. In the version dropdown, select which version of Minecraft you're using. Leave the dimension dropdown as "Overworld."
  4. 4
Choose to highlight Mangrove Swamps. Under the map of your Minecraft world, there's a bar that says "Highlight Biomes." Click into this bar and type "Mangrove Swamp," then click Mangrove Swamp in the menu that pops up. This will highlight all the Mangrove Swamp biomes in your seed.
  5. 5
Zoom out and pan the map to find a Mangrove Swamp. Place your mouse cursor on the map and scroll to zoom out, then click and drag to pan. Mangrove Swamps will be highlighted in green.[3]
    • If you're trying to find a Mangrove Swamp close to spawn, scroll out while the 0,0 coordinates are centered in the map pane. Then, click the Random button to generate a new seed. Once you find a seed that you like, you can copy the number in the "seed" field and use that to start a new Minecraft world.
    • If you're having a hard time finding the 0,0 coordinates, you can check the box to turn on grid lines. Where the bold lines intersect is your spawn point.
