Your Microsoft account can be used to access many Microsoft products beyond just your Microsoft account in a web browser. You can use your Microsoft account to sign in to Microsoft Office products, your Xbox, Outlook, and more. In this article, we go over how to log in to a Microsoft account in a web browser and to other Microsoft products.
Quick Steps
- Go to account.microsoft.com/account.
- Click Sign In.
- Enter your email, phone number, or old Skype username.
- Click Next.
- Enter your password.
- Click Sign in to finish the login process.
Steps
Signing In on a Computer
-
Go to the Microsoft account website in a web browser. You can use any browser to log in to your account. To do so, go to account.microsoft.com/account.
-
Click Sign In. You'll find this blue button in the middle of the page, under the header "It's all here with Microsoft account."Advertisement
-
Enter your email, phone number, or Skype name. You can use any of these sign-ins to be able to log in to your account.
- Click Next to move to the next screen.
- Note: Skype has been discontinued,[1] but you can still sign in to your Microsoft account with your Skype name, if that's how you originally set it up.
-
Enter your password. You can also click the checkbox next to "Keep me signed in" to avoid needing to sign in every time you visit a Microsoft account page.
- If you don't know your password, click Other ways to sign in or Forgot Password for help.
- Depending on what type of account you're signing in with, you may be asked to verify your Microsoft account PIN in a pop-up from Windows Security (if you have one set up). Using this pop-up will bypass the need to enter your password.
- If you opted to enter your PIN, you'll get a separate page asking if you'd like to stay signed in. Press Yes or No, depending on your preferences.
-
Click Sign in to continue. If your password is correct, you'll be redirected to your account page, where you can manage your subscriptions, storage, Xbox Game Pass, devices, and more.[2]
