How to Locate the Model Number on a Dryer

If you need to troubleshoot, register, or order replacement parts for your dryer, you'll need to know the model number. Fortunately, it's easy to find the model and serial numbers for any top-loading or front-loading dryer. In most cases, you'll just need to open the dryer door and look around its edges for a sticker or plate containing the numbers you need. In this article, we will show you where to find the model number of your dryer, regardless of the make or model.

Things You Should Know

In most cases, you'll find your dryer's model number inside the door, either on the back or front of the inner faceplate.
On a few Samsung, Maytag, and Fisher & Paykel dryers, the model number sticker may be on the back of the appliance.

The model and serial number location varies depending on dryer type.
- Front loading dryers: Open the dryer door. If your dryer was manufactured after 2001, you'll find the model number plate inside the door at the top. If you don't see the sticker, check the back of the dryer. For older dryers, the model number is on the sticker you see on the front of the dryer when the door is open.
- Top loading dryers: You'll find the model and serial numbers on the back of the dryer's control panel. It'll be on the left side of the back panel when you're facing the appliance.
