Expert Tips on Mobs in Minecraft

Minecraft is full of mobs, with more added each year. They range from friend to foe, and they make the world of Minecraft more alive than it would be otherwise. We talked to Minecraft pros to get the inside scoop on some of your favorite mobs:

  • Minecraft expert mochsty says that you can't craft mob spawners in survival mode. That said, you can create conditions for certain mobs to spawn, like total darkness.[2]
  • Gaming and trend expert Ibrahim N. explains the mythical White Enderman: "The White Enderman was a version of that mob that I believe appeared in very early versions as soon as it was created... I think either it was a texture glitch that sometimes happened or an issue with the shaders that caused it to appear white instead of its regular appearance."[3]
  • Gaming expert Jose Rivera tells us about the myth of Herobrine, an urban legend that some would say appeared in players' games: "The myth persists because the image, a white, human-shaped figure standing still in the dark, is so effective at scaring players.
