Kirby Fun Facts

1. Kirby's name was originally Twinkle Popo. Seems fitting to us, but we're used to Kirby!

2. We have no idea how old Kirby is. The character seems like a sweet innocent bébé, but his age is never actually confirmed.

3. We don't actually know Kirby's gender. Though he's typically referred to as "he" in the American versions of the games, Kirby's creator, Masahiro Sakurai, has said that Kirby's gender is actually ambiguous. Queer icon alert?

4. Kirby can't read. As shown in Kirby Fighters 2, Kirby receives a letter from King Dedede and Meta Knight, but can't read it. (And the evidence that he's just a child is piling up!)

5. In early character designs, Kirby had hair. And teeth. We're haunted by this info, and now you have to be too. Can you imagine?
