Depending on their privacy settings, you can check someone’s online status on the Roblox web portal or mobile app. There are also experiences that will tell you the last known online status of a Roblox user. This wikiHow article teaches you how to see if someone is online in Roblox.

Tap the search icon in the Roblox mobile app.
Type a friend's username into the search bar.
If a green dot appears next to their name, they are online.

Enter your friend’s username in the search bar. The search bar is at the top of the screen. Enter their username and tap the search icon on your keyboard.
- Alternatively, you can check your most recent connections at the top of the app. To view all your connections, tap the menu icon with three lines (☰) in the upper-left corner. Then tap Connections.

Check if your friend has a green dot next to their name. If they have a green dot next to their name, this means they are online. If they have an orange dot, it means they are online in Roblox Studio.

Open Roblox and look for green dots under "Connections." When you open Roblox on your PC or Mac, you'll see several of your friends at the top. If you see a green dot next to someone's name, they're currently online.

Click Connections to expand your entire friend list. Now you'll see everyone you're connected to on Roblox, as well as which games or experiences they're in if they are online. If a friend is offline, you'll see "offline" below their name and icon.

Alternatively, click the Party tab. On this tab, just look for green dots next to people's names to see if they are online.

Go to roblox.com in a web browser. You can use any web browser on your computer.
If you aren’t logged into your Roblox account automatically, you will need to enter the username and password associated with your Roblox account. You’ll also need to follow any CAPTCHA checks to make sure you are a person, and enter the passcode from any 2-factor authentication methods you have set up.

Enter the person’s username in the search bar. It’s at the top of the page. This will display a variety of search options.
- If you can’t remember your friend’s exact username, try to get it as close as you can. It will search for users with similar usernames.
- Alternatively, you can click See all on the right side of the screen across from Connections. This will allow you to see all the people you have recently connected with. Click the tabs at the top of the page to sort your connections by Connections, Following, or Followers.
Click the search option that resembles a person next to your search term. This will search for the username in people.

Check your friend’s online status. It will either say “Online” or “Offline” below the username and profile picture. If they are online, you may see a green or blue icon next to their profile picture.

Go to roblox.com in a web browser. You can use any web browser on your computer.
If you aren’t logged into your Roblox account automatically, you will need to enter the username and password associated with your Roblox account. It’s in the lower-right corner of the website. This displays a chat window with all your recent connections.
If your friend is listed as one of your connections, it will display when they were last online next to their username in the chat.

Using the "Last Known Online Info" Experience

Go to the “Check a User’s Last Known Online Info” game. This is an experience you can use to check if a user is online and when they were last online. Go to the experience's official page and click the Play button on the right side.
- You can also find this experience by entering “Check a User’s Last Known Online Info” in the search bar at the top of the Roblox page. Then click the option to search in experiences.
If you want to stay in the multiplayer version, click Stay (Multiplayer) on the screen. If you want to go to a single-player version of the game, click Teleport (Single-Player).
Enter the username of the person you want to check in the field at the top. For this, you will need to know their exact username.

Check their online info. You will see the user’s avatar in the large window. To the right of that, you will see the user’s username, when they joined, when they were last online (and if they are currently online), as well as their friend count, how many followers they have, and how many people are following them.
