If you’re trying to see a deleted post or comment on Reddit, you might be able to do so using third-party tools and workarounds. While many older tools, such as Resavr, Undelete, and Unddit, may no longer work (or have become unsafe), you can still see some admin-removed content with Reveddit. You can also see deleted content using website caches like the Wayback Machine. In this article, we’ll explain the best and safest options to view deleted Reddit content.
How to View Removed Reddit Posts
There’s no official way to view deleted Reddit posts and comments, but you can use third-party tools to see some types of removed content. Use Reveddit to reveal admin-removed or hidden comments and posts. You might also be able to see deleted posts using the Wayback Machine, if they were cached before deletion.
Steps
Reveddit
-
Open the Reddit post where you want to view deleted comments. Reveddit is a site that allows you to view admin-deleted comments (and sometimes posts) on Reddit. Unfortunately, it does not have the ability to show you user-deleted content. There are a few ways to use Reveddit, but the easiest one is to navigate directly to a post with deleted comments in your computer’s browser.[1]
- You can also navigate to the specific thread with the deleted comment(s) you want to view.
-
Add v or ve to the word “reddit” in the URL. In the address bar of your browser, change “reddit” to “revddit” or “reveddit.” Press Enter or Return to reload the page. The post should reload on the Reveddit website.
- Reveddit is a very finicky tool, so you might have to reload a few times to get this to work. It may also help to try again in a different browser.

Click comments to reveal any hidden comments. Once you get the Reveddit page to load, you should see the post you’re trying to view. Click the link that says [Number] comments at the top to reveal any comments on the post, including admin-deleted ones.
- Deleted comments will show up in red boxes with a tag that says “[removed]” at the top.
-
Try these alternative ways to view deleted content on Reveddit. Reveddit offers a few other tools for revealing deleted comments and posts, but they don’t all work reliably. Here are some other things you can try:
- Enter a username or subreddit name in the text box on the main Reveddit page and click Go. You may be able to see admin-deleted content for that user or sub.
- Enter your own username to find out if any of your own posts or comments have been deleted. You can do this from the main Reveddit page or on any other page where you see a your account history text box.
- Install the Reveddit Real-Time extension to get notified when your content is removed by an admin. This extension is available for Chrome and Firefox.
- You’ll also get notifications if your comment is reapproved, locked, or unlocked.
- You can also get notifications about changes to specific comments or posts.
Wayback Machine
-
Visit the Wayback Machine website. The Wayback Machine is a tool on Archive.org that caches websites so you can view earlier versions. While this can be a great way to see lost content, it’s not guaranteed to work. You’ll only find what you’re looking for if the missing post or comment happened to be cached before it was deleted. To get started, visit web.archive.org in a browser.
-
Paste the URL of the post, thread, or subreddit you want to view into the text box. On the Wayback Machine homepage, you’ll see a text box that says Enter a url or words related to a site’s home page. Paste the address of the Reddit post you want to view into the box, then press Enter or Return.
-
Select the date you want to view. A new page will load with a timeline and calendar. Click the year you want to view in the timeline, then select a specific date from the calendar.
- You may see several snapshots for the same day. If multiple timestamps are available, pick the one you want to view from the drop-down menu.
-
View the archived post. Once you pick the snapshot you want to view, it will load on the Wayback Machine website. Check to see if the comment or post you’re looking for is visible.
