FAQ

  1. 1
What happened to the Microsoft Rewards app? Microsoft recently streamlined the rewards system so you don’t need a separate app to claim rewards. The Rewards app has been discontinued. Any points you had in the Rewards app should still be available on the web, on your Xbox console, or in the Xbox app, unless they have expired.
  2. 2
Why can’t I see the Rewards tab on my console? Xbox rewards aren’t supported in all countries and regions. Find out if Rewards are available in your region by visiting www.xbox.com/en-US/regions, clicking Products/Services near the top of the page, and clicking Rewards in the left-hand menu.
    • If you use a VPN that routes your internet traffic through a country where rewards aren’t available, you won’t be able to access rewards.
  3. 3
Why am I having issues redeeming my rewards points? There are several different reasons you might not be able to claim your points. Check for the following potential problems:[6]
    • Are you in the same region you used to sign up for your account? If you’re traveling or if you’ve moved to a different country or region, you might not be able to redeem your rewards.
    • Do you have a VPN turned on? If so, Microsoft’s servers might not be able to read your region correctly. This is a common reason for problems redeeming points.
    • Did you link a VoIP number to your Microsoft account? You can only authenticate rewards purchases with a landline or mobile phone number. You’ll need to visit account.microsoft.com/security and update your number in the Security Information section.
    • Is your phone number linked to multiple Microsoft accounts? If so, you may not be able to use it to confirm rewards purchases. You’ll need to update with a new mobile or landline number at account.microsoft.com/security.
    • Did you use the right code when verifying your purchase? If you got a code on your mobile device to authenticate your points purchase, make sure you entered it correctly. If you enter the code incorrectly too many times, you’ll have to wait 48 hours before you can try again.
