Whether you're a developer testing out your game or simply a player trying to get a rare drop, there are plenty of reasons why you might want to have more than two Roblox windows open. In this article, we go over two ways you can have multiple Roblox instances running, and we also answer some frequently asked questions about these methods. Keep reading to learn more.
How to Have More Than Two Roblox Open
- Use MuMuPlayer, an Android emulator, to easily run multiple Roblox instances in one app.
- Use Fishstrap, an alternative Roblox launcher, to launch multiple instances of Roblox.
- You'll need a separate account for each Roblox instance.
Steps
Using MuMuPlayer
-
Download and install MuMuPlayer. MuMuPlayer is an Android emulator that you can run on your computer. To get it, go to mumuplayer.com and click the Download button in the middle of the screen. Once you've downloaded the MuMuPlayer installer, run it to install the program.
- If MuMuPlayer is already installed on your computer, simply open MuMuPlayer and move to the next step.
-
Click the three-dot icon to the right of your first device. Once MuMuPlayer is installed, it will open up. In the window's center pane, you'll see a header that says "Android Device." You'll want to click the three-dot icon to the right of this first device to move on.Advertisement
-
Click Device Settings. It's the top option in the menu, and it has an icon of a cellphone with a small gear in the corner.
-
Adjust your device settings. To ensure that Roblox doesn't use up too many of your computer's resources, make the following changes in the Device Settings menu:
-
Performance tab:
- Performance settings: Change the dropdown to Custom and choose 2 Cores and 2 GB.
- GPU memory usage: Select Less resource usage.
- Smart Memory Optimization: Toggle this option on.
-
Display tab:
- Resolution settings: Choose Tablet in the dropdown, then select 1280 x 720 (DPI 240).
- FPS settings: Lower the Max FPS to 20.
-
Performance tab:
-
Start the device. Click the play button on the device to start it up. If you get a notification that you need to enable hardware virtualization, follow the on-screen steps to do so, or check out this wikiHow article.
-
Click on the Gadget section. This will open a menu with a variety of Android apps.
-
Click on Play Store. This will open the Google Play Store. If you're prompted to sign in to an account, you can sign in with your own account, or you can create a new one.
-
Download Roblox. To do this, click on the Search button at the bottom of the screen, then search for "Roblox." Download it just like you would on a standard mobile device.
-
Exit the device. To do so, click on the x in the upper-right corner. MuMuPlayer will ask if you want to close the device; click Confirm to continue.
-
Click on the three-dot icon to the right of the device and select Copy. This icon is the same button you pressed to access Device Settings, but we'll be doing something else in this menu now. Clicking Copy will make an exact copy of this device with all of the settings you just set, and Roblox will be installed on each device.
- You can choose how many device copies you want to make. Make as many copies as you have Roblox accounts, minus one. This is because the first device you created will still be there. For example, if you want to run 6 instances of Roblox at once, you'd make 5 copies of the original device you made.
-
Start each device. Click the play button next to each device to start it up.
-
Click Arrange at the top of the screen. This shows all the devices you have running at the same time. If you made a lot of devices, the screens will be very small, and it may be hard to see.
-
Open Roblox on each device. You'll have to sign in with a different account in each instance of Roblox to actually use the app.[1]
Using Fishstrap
-
Download and install Fishstrap. Fishstrap is an alternative Roblox launcher. It's a fork of Bloxstrap, which is another alternative Roblox launcher, but it offers other features. Fishstrap will allow you to open multiple instances of Roblox, but it's a bit more intensive than MuMuPlayer, so it won't be able to run as many instances.
- Download Fishstrap from fishstrap.app, then run the installer to install it.
- If you already have Fishstrap installed, start it up and move to the next step.
-
Click Configure settings. Once Fishstrap finishes installing, it should open up automatically. If it doesn't, open it up now.
-
Toggle on Allow multi-instance launching. This option is in the "Integrations" tab, which should be selected automatically when you open settings.
-
Click Save and Launch. This will save your current settings and start Roblox. The first time you start Roblox, it will take a little bit for it to download and unzip.
-
Close Roblox and open Fishstrap again. While it might seem counterintuitive, we still have a bit more to do in Fishstrap. To open Fishstrap, either double-click the Fishstrap icon on your desktop (if you added one) or search for "fishstrap" in the taskbar search bar.
-
Click on Configure settings again and select Global Settings. Now that Roblox has been started once via Fishstrap, you can edit global settings. This is important so you can reduce the resources Fishstrap uses while running your Roblox instances.
-
Edit your settings. These are the settings you should adjust:
- Graphics Quality: Set this to 0 or 1.
- Framerate Limit: Set this to 20.
-
Click Save. This will save the global settings that you've selected.
-
Click Launch Roblox. On the main screen of Fishstrap, launch a Roblox instance. You can make the window smaller so you can fit multiple windows on the screen.
-
Open Fishstrap again and open more Roblox instances. For each Roblox instance you want to create, you'll need to open Fishstrap and click Launch Roblox. You'll have to sign in to each instance with a different account to actually use Roblox, however.[2]
