The Roblox game Fisch is a fun fishing game where the goal is to collect increasingly rare sea creatures. You’ll need special fishing rods to catch certain fish, and the Fabulous Rod is one of the hardest to obtain in the whole game. Getting the Fabulous Rod is not a beginner-friendly task—you’ll need to reach Player Level 1,000 before you can even start the quest, and even then, finishing the quests will be a grind. But if you’re up for the challenge, we’ll walk you through how to do it!
How do you get the Fabulous Rod?
- Reach Player Level 1000 and obtain a submarine.
- Travel to the second section of the Calm Zone in Mariana’s Veil.
- Talk to the Fabulous Deity NPC.
- Obtain rare mutated fish to complete all 4 stages of the Fabulous Deity’s quest.
- Turn in the completed quests to receive the Fabulous Rod.
Steps
Starting the Fabulous Rod Quest
-
Use a submarine to explore Mariana’s Veil once you reach Player Level 1000. The Fabulous Rod Quest is intended to be completed by the most experienced Fisch players. Once your level is high enough, completely unlock all of the zones in Mariana’s Veil (if you haven’t already). To unlock Mariana’s Veil, explore the caves under Roslit Bay, completing the quest requirements and solving puzzles to unlock each area.[1]
- If you don’t have a submarine, talk to Dr. Glimmerfin behind the Lighthouse. Follow the quest directions to gather all the submarine parts, then talk to Dr. Glimmerfin again to obtain the submarine. You’ll also need to complete Dr. Glimmerfin’s Glimmerfin Suit quest.
- The locations within Mariana’s Veil are: Volcanic Vents, Challenger’s Deep, Abyssal Zenith, Calm Zone, and Veil of the Forsaken.
- Once you reach the first part of the Calm Zone, obtain a Frozen Leviathan, Crowned Anglerfish, and Magma Leviathan to access the final area in Mariana’s Veil.
- Note: There’s some dispute about exactly which level you need to be to start the quest—some say you can start it as early as Level 1000, while others say you need to reach Level 1500.
-
Climb the mountain in the second area of the Calm Zone. This area is a little tricky. It’s set up like an obby, so you’ll have to jump and glide your way through without falling. Take your time, and if you’re successful, you’ll end up on a grassy area at the mountain’s peak, where you’ll find the green, glowing Fabulous Deity NPC. [2]Advertisement
-
Talk to the Fabulous Deity to start the quest. Talk to the NPC to start the Fabulous Rod Quest. The Fabulous Deity will say, “FABULOUS greetings fischer! My my... You’re looking very astounding today aren’t you! Ohoho! But… something’s off. Aaah HAH! Your rod! It…doesn’t quite fit you. You should embark.. A JOURNEY! A FABULOUS journey of MISERY. Beauty is PAIN after all! Well now, what are you waiting for? Ta-tah fischer! Start your FABULOUS beginnings!” [5]
- After this conversation, a new quest (Fabulous Beginnings) will be added to your Quest List, along with 3 new objectives.[6]
Completing the Fabulous Rod Quests
-
Quest Stage 1: Fabulous Beginnings For the first stage of the Fabulous Rod Quest, you’ll need to obtain 4 fish with specific mutations. Your objectives are:[7]
- Catch x2 Handfish (Shiny + Sparkling): Find Handfish at Mushgrove Swamp.[8] Use a Blessed Enchantment to increase your chances of getting the Shiny and Sparkling mutations, or fish during a Shiny Surge (for Shiny) or Night of the Luminous (for Sparkling) event.[9]
- Catch x1 Mutated Shark (Sunken): Find Mutated Sharks in The Depths. Use Fish Head bait to improve your chances of catching it.[10] You’ll need the Sunken Rod to get the Sunken mutation—find it in treasure chests throughout the game.[11]
-
Catch x1 Frozen Walnut (Sparkling + Nova): Find the Frozen Walnut in Overgrowth Caves. [12]
Use a Blessed enchantment and fish during Starfall to get both of these mutations at the same time.[13]
- If you have a Rod of the Cosmos, use it to boost your chances of getting Nova. However, this item is no longer attainable in the game, so you can’t get it anymore if you don’t have it already.
-
Quest Stage 2: Fabulous Findings Once you obtain all of the fish needed for the Fabulous Beginnings quest, return to the Fabulous Deity and turn them in. This will trigger Stage 2 of the Fabulous Rod Quest: Fabulous Findings. Here’s what you’ll need to do for this stage:[14]
- Catch x200 Dumbo Octopus (no required mutation): Go to the Coral Reef at Roslit Bay and catch 200 Dumbo Octopuses. They don’t have to have a particular mutation—but they’re still a little rare, so this can take a while.[15]
- Catch x1 Ancient Depth Serpent (Sunken): Go to the Depths to find an Ancient Depth Serpent. This is a very rare fish, so use Truffle Worm or Shark Head bait to boost your chances of catching it.[16] Use the Sunken rod to get the Sunken mutation.
- Catch x1 Voltfish (Shiny + Rainbow Cluster): Go to Sunstone Island to catch a Voltfish. Use Super Flakes if you have them, since that will increase the chances of catching it.[17] To get both of these mutations, use a Blessed enchantment and a Rainbow Cluster Rod, or fish during a Shiny Surge or Rainbow event.[18]
-
Quest Stage 3: Fabulous Torment If you’re still in the game after finishing Stage 2, congratulations—but don’t relax just yet. Turn in your fish to the Fabulous Deity to trigger Stage 3: Fabulous Torment. For this stage, here’s what to do:[19]
- Catch x3 Spectral Serpent (Sunken): Head to the Brine Pool in the Desolate Deep to fish for the spooky-looking Spectral Serpent. Their favorite food is Truffle Worm, so use that as bait if you have it.[20] Fish with the Sunken rod so you can get the Sunken mutation.
- Catch x1 Brine Phantom (Sparkling + Sunken): While you’re at the Brine Pool, use Fish Head bait to fish for a Brine Phantom.[21] Use a Blessed Enchantment or fish during Night of the Luminous to get the Sparkling mutation, and use the Sunken rod to get the Sunken mutation.
-
Catch x50 Baby Pond Emperor: Travel to Snowcap Island and fish in the freshwater pond there until you get 50 Baby Pond Emperors. Their favorite bait is Squid.[22]
These don’t have a required mutation.
- During a Pond Emperor Uprising event, you can catch Baby Pond Emperors in any body of water.
-
Quest Stage 4: Fabulous Finale You’ve probably put in a ton of time on this quest by now, so don’t give up. Visit the Fabulous Deity again to start Stage 4—yep, this is really it! Here’s what you’ll need to do:[23]
- Catch x1 Crystallized Seadragon (Shiny + Rainbow Cluster): Stay in the Calm Zone to fish for the Crystallized Seadragon.[24] Use a Blessed enchantment and a Rainbow Cluster Rod, and keep fishing until you get both mutations at the same time. Don’t get discouraged—this sometimes takes a while.
- Catch x1 Scylla (Sunken): Find the Scylla in the Veil of Forsaken, just beyond the Calm Zone in Mariana’s Veil. Use a Sunken Rod to get the Sunken mutation, and be patient, because this one takes a long time to reel in.[25]
-
Return x1 Whale Shark (Shiny + Mosaic): You actually don’t have to catch a Whale Shark during the quest—you just need to hand it to the Fabulous Deity.
- If you already have a Whale Shark in your inventory, visit the Appraiser and keep re-rolling your appraisal until you land on both Shiny and Mosaic. (Once you get Shiny, it will stay, so you’ll just need to get Mosaic after that.)
-
Receive your Fabulous Rod. If you make it through all four stages of the Fabulous Rod Quest, you’ll get your well-earned reward: The Fabulous Rod. This is quite an accomplishment, so equip the Fabulous Rod and wear it with pride!
- The Fabulous Rod is a glowing, pastel pink with a bow on top. Truly fabulous![26]
