The 2 Key Elements of a Project Title

  • Descriptive. At the end of the day, a project title has to clearly summarize and nod to the tasks and goals that are central to the project. Avoiding irrelevant descriptions is key, but it's also important not to fall prey to overly vague corporate descriptions when crafting your project title (for example, how many different projects can you imagine that would fit under a title like: "Content Refresh Project"). Don't be afraid to get descriptive!
  • Punchy. Everyone in your work or school environment is operating on a schedule and their time is valuable. That's why it's important to be efficient, or in the case of a title, concise! While it's important to clearly nod to the task and goals of the project you're working on, it's important to do that in as few of words as possible. As a rule, you should never go over 5 words when you can!
