Breton Name Generator

Find fantastical names for Elder Scrolls or Celtic stories

This generator is the ultimate resource for naming your Breton, bridging the gap between real-world Celtic heritage and the rich fantasy of The Elder Scrolls. We draw inspiration from authentic Breton names—like Maël, Enora, and Tanguy—which carry the deep, resonant history of Brittany, as well as the distinct, often French-influenced, fantasy names favored by characters in High Rock and across Tamriel (like Rielle or Lucien). Whether you seek a moniker worthy of a shrewd Daggerfall noble, a gifted mages-guild spellcaster, or a commoner with a touch of Manmeri magic, your perfect, lore-friendly name awaits.

A Brief History of Bretons

The Bretons are Celtic people who moved to Brittany, in northwest France, in the 5th Century CE. The Breton language evolved from Welsh and Cornish, and an estimated 280,000 people speak it.[1]

In the video game The Elder Scrolls, Bretons are one of the 10 races available to play (the others are Argonian, High Elf, Wood Elf, Dark Elf, Khajiit, Imperial, Orc, Nord, and Redguard).[2] Bretons are an elven race from High Rock.
