If you leave in the middle of drafting a Facebook post, you’re given the option to save a draft. But what happens to that draft after you navigate away? If you’re posting on your personal profile, Facebook’s draft saving options are pretty limited. As long as you don’t close the app or the website, your draft will be temporarily saved in the “What’s on your mind?” box. If you have a Facebook Page, you can save multiple drafts and access them via the Meta Business Suite. Read on to learn where Facebook stores your drafts and how to restore them.

Where are Facebook drafts saved?

  • If you’re using your personal profile, you can save one draft at a time directly in the “What’s on your mind?” text field.
  • Drafts of personal posts disappear if you start composing a new post or exit the app or website.
  • If you have a Page, you can save drafts in the Meta Business Suite website or app. Access those drafts by going to Content > Posts > Drafts.
