Do you love cat videos? Music videos? Whatever your YouTube watching preferences, you may occasionally want to save a video to your favorites list. If you have a YouTube account, you can easily do this whether you're using the website or mobile app. Here's how to add a video to your favorites on YouTube using your iPhone, iPad, Android, or computer.

Adding to Your Favorites on YouTube

To add a video to your favorites on YouTube, navigate to a video and select Save underneath it. Select + New playlist and enter Favorites as the title. Select Create to add the video to your new Favorites playlist.

Using the Mobile App

  1. Make sure you're logged into your account. You can browse your home page or search for a specific video using the search bar.
    • YouTube has removed the default "Favorites" playlist, so you'll need to create one to add to it. If you had one in the past, you may have an existing Favorites.
  2. A pop-up menu will open.

  3. You'll see this at the top of the menu.
    • If you don't see this menu, YouTube may have automatically saved the video to your last playlist. You can tap Change on the notification to change it.
  4. You can name this playlist anything, but Favorites will help you organize your videos similar to previous YouTube versions.
  5. If you want this to stay private, set the Visibility as Private. If you want anyone to be able to search for and view your playlist, select Public. If you want your playlist only available to those with a link, select Unlisted.
  6. This will create the "Favorites" playlist and add the video to it.
    • To add more videos to your Favorites, navigate to the video, select the Save button, and then select Favorites.

    • To add more videos to your Favorites, navigate to the video, select the Save button, and then select Favorites.
