If you have an Apple Music or Spotify subscription, you can download songs and playlists to your iPhone to listen to when you're not online. If not, you can buy songs and albums using your iPhone's iTunes Store app, or transfer music files (such as MP3s) from your PC or Mac to your iPhone. This wikiHow guide will teach you easy ways to download music and add songs to your iPhone, with or without a computer.
Adding Music to an iPhone
- If you subscribe to Apple Music, you can download music to your iPhone by tapping and holding a song and selecting Download.
- Use the iTunes Store app on your iPhone to search for songs and albums from your favorite artists and download them to listen to anytime, even offline.
- You can use the Music app on your Mac (or iTunes for Windows) to sync music files from your computer to your iPhone.
Steps

Enable Sync Library and Automatic Downloads. To download music from Apple Music onto your iPhone, you'll need to enable Sync Library in your Settings.[1] Do the following:
- Open the Settings app.
- Tap Music.
- Enable "Sync Library."
- If you want songs you add to your library to download to your iPhone automatically, you can also enable "Automatic Downloads."
- Note: You will need an Apple Music subscription to download music to your iPhone with this method.

Find a song, album, or playlist. Tap the magnifying glass icon at the bottom-right corner to enter a search.

Tap and hold the song, album, or playlist. A pop-up menu will open.

Tap Download. This will be in the pop-up menu. You can also tap Add to Library and tap the down arrow to download.[2]
