Meet the Saja Boys
Who are the Saja Boys?
The Saja Boys are the main antagonists of Netflix’s hit animated movie Kpop Demon Hunters. They’re a boy band of demons disguised as humans intent on stealing the souls of their fans—that is, unless the members of Huntr/x can stop them. They’re made up of the leader, Jinu, and the supporting band members Baby, Abby, Mystery, and Romance. Each of the supporting members is named after their signature traits, which are tropes in K-pop.
Why are they called the Saja Boys?
Fans speculate that “Saja” comes from Jeoseung Saja, which is a Korean folk character that’s similar to the Grim Reaper, which makes sense given that in the movie, the Saja boys are after their fans’ souls.
Who voices the Saja Boys?
Each Saja Boy is voiced by multiple actors! Jinu’s speaking voice is Ahn Hyo Seop, and his singing voice is Andrew Choi. Abby’s speaking voice is SungWon Cho, and his singing voice is NECKWAV. Mystery’s speaking voice is Alan Lee, and his singing voice is Kevin Woo. Romance’s speaking voice is Joel Kim Booster, and his singing voice is SamUIL Lee. Baby is voiced by Danny Chung.
What songs do the Saja Boys sing?
The Saja Boys are known for their singles “Soda Pop” and “Your Idol,” both of which have charted.
Are the Saja Boys based on a real group?
The Saja Boys aren’t based on any single group, but rather they’re a parody of K-pop boy bands in general. That said, they draw heavy inspiration from groups like BTS, Stray Kids, NCT, and Seventeen.
