There are countless cartoons and animated series that are available to enjoy—each one with its own passionate fanbase, beloved characters, and imaginative universes. But, if we had to narrow it down, we've made a list of 10 of our favorite cartoon worlds (in no particular order):


Gravity Falls

Gravity Falls takes place in a small, unassuming Oregon town that is (mysteriously) chock-full of supernatural happenings, paranormal creatures, and unexplained anomalies galore! Fortunately, you’d fit right into this cartoon universe (or, should we say, multiverse). You’d dive headfirst into this fantastical setting and be totally game to explore the nature of the Pacific Northwest, investigate any local hauntings, and spend your downtime all cozied up in this rural town (probably crafting, puzzling, or playing games with your pals).


Adventure Time

Are you ready to go back to the future?? Adventure Time takes place in the post-apocalyptic Land of Ooo, which is a world filled with candy beings, magical rulers, and demonic mutants. However, with your adventurous spirit and curiosity about the world around you, you’ll quickly make yourself at home in this fantastical, futuristic universe. You can spend your time hiking through post-nuclear forests, frolicking in cotton candy meadows, and anything else that your cartoon heart desires!


Spongebob Squarepants

I mean, how could you *not* want to live in Bikini Bottom and be neighbors with SpongeBob, Patrick, Squidward, and their assortment of aquatic pals?? As the latest resident of this underground universe, you’ll spend your days frying up Michelin-level Krabby Patties, swimming along the ocean floor, and enjoying the tropical temps of Bikini Bottom. Plus, with your certified funny bone and your new gang of hilarious pals, you’ll be yucking it up nonstop!


Pokémon

The Pokémon universe is certainly vast, so it’s a good thing that you’ll have time to explore it all! You can settle in your favorite region (like Kanto, Sinnoh, or Paldea) before moving onto the *best* part of living in this universe…which is hanging out with Pokémons all day long! You won’t just live alongside adorable, powerful, and totally cool Pokémon pets, but you can also adopt your own and train them for a life of action and purpose! Avatar: The Last Airbender

The fantasy world of Avatar: The Last Airbender is deeply complex, with Four Nations that reflect each of the four classical elements (Earth, Water, Fire, and Air). While there’s plenty of strife between those nations, there’s also hope and power amongst the characters who fight against cruelty and evil! You can’t help but be drawn toward this universe, with its emphasis on spirituality and nature, as well as balance and harmony—whether that’s within your own self, or whether it involves you seeking understanding and diplomacy between opposing groups. Importantly, while you value calmness and serenity, you’re also willing to take action and be a vital part of Aang’s element-bending team.


The Simpsons

Welcome to Springfield! This fictional town is pretty much the most all-American, run-of-the-mill place you could find yourself in (although it’s certainly willing to poke some satirical fun at itself). You’ll probably enjoy the calm, secure, suburban lifestyle of Springfield (as well as the plethora of pink frosted donuts), and you can relate to the humorous but sorta jaded outlook of most of your neighbors. Sit back, relax, put on the TV, and enjoy your new life in Anywhere, USA!


The Powerpuff Girls
