Do you want to add a picture to that Word document while you're on the go? You can use photos already in your Camera Roll or Gallery, or you can take a new photo and insert it right from your device. This wikiHow will show you how to insert an image in Word on mobile Android, iPhone, and iPad, with tips on using the Continuity Camera on Mac.

Adding a Picture in the Word App

To insert an image in Word using your iPhone, iPad, or Android, tap the location you want to place it. Then, select the Insert tab and tap Pictures. Select from your gallery or tap Camera to take a photo.

Using an iPhone or iPad

    • Also, you will need to make sure Word has access to your photos. Go to Settings > Privacy > Photos and tap the switch next to the Office product.[1]

Using Continuity Camera (Mac)

    Make sure both devices are signed into the same Apple ID. To use the Continuity Camera feature, make sure your iPhone or iPad and Mac are signed into the same Apple account. This is how you can add images from your mobile device directly to the Word doc on your computer.
    • Your iPhone or iPad must be running iOS 12+, and your computer must be running macOS Mojave or newer.
    • Make sure Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are enabled on both devices.

    On your Mac, open a Word document. You must have Word for Microsoft 365 for Mac or Word 2019 for Mac version 16.21 or newer.[7]
