Are dogs considered haram in Islam?
Dogs are not considered haram in Islam. Dogs can be used for hunting, and as a watchdog to protect. Dogs are found in the 18th chapter of the Quran, where the people that were the sleepers in the cave had a dog that was a watchdog.

However, their saliva is said to be impure, and there's a whole level of cleanliness that needs to be done if, say, they lick your clothes or if you get their saliva on them, but essentially, dogs are not forbidden in the religion and are considered very beneficial. They're one more being in the creation of God that we should show mercy to.
Are doritos haram or halal?
There are two things to look at. First off, you can evaluate the ethical nature of a product. If an company does evil things, I'm not going to buy their products, right?  I'd rather give my money to something that's more ethical. So there’s that consideration. However, the main key is knowing whether something is halal. Halal is away from being ethical. Halal means that something has no alcohol, no pork, there's no blood in it. When it comes to Doritos, you need to look at the ingredients, and make sure that there's nothing that there’s nothing within it that would either be considered alcohol, pig, or pork.
