In Windows 11, "Add or Remove Programs" was renamed to "Installed Apps." Installed Apps is used to remove programs on your computer, as it works exactly like the old "Add or Remove Programs" feature did. To add programs to your computer, download them from the Internet or use the Microsoft Store.

"Add or Remove Programs" is now called "Installed Apps." This feature will let you see all of the apps that are installed on your computer, and you can uninstall or repair them from this menu.

    • If you search for "add or remove programs" in the taskbar search bar, a result called "add or remove programs" may come up for you. Clicking it will open "Installed Apps."[1]

  1. This will open the Power User menu.
  2. It's at the top of the Power User menu.
    • Alternatively, you can use the taskbar search bar to search for "installed apps" or "add or remove programs" to open the Installed Apps window.
    • If you're on Windows 10, this option will be called "Apps & features."
  3. By default, the Installed Apps list is sorted alphabetically. You can use the filters at the top of the list to filter your apps by a different metric (such as size), or you can use the search bar to type in the name of the program you want to remove. You can also simply scroll until you find the correct app.
  4. It's on the far right side of the bar that has the program's name in it.
  5. This will prompt your computer to begin the uninstallation process. You may receive a pop-up asking you to confirm that you want to uninstall the program, or your computer may open a full uninstallation wizard created by the app's developers. Follow any on-screen instructions to complete the uninstallation process.
  6. If you receive a pop-up asking you to restart your computer to complete the uninstallation process, do so now. Save any open documents before restarting your computer to avoid data loss.[3]
    • Some apps require you to restart your computer after uninstallation to complete the process, but not every app needs this.

    • Downloading installers: Most programs you'll add to your computer will be installed via installers that you download from the internet. These installers almost always come in an .EXE format, though some may be .MSI.
