QuestionI did this and my line bird nested as soon as I casted it out. What did I do wrong? And is there any way to get a bird's nest out without cutting the line?

When a bird's nest occurs, pulling the loops that the line gets stuck on to one side or the other and attempting to slowly pull out the mainline will often times fix it. -

Community AnswerThe reel brake is the knob on the side with numbers that usually go up to 10. If not, then you have a centrifugal braking system and you'll have to open up the reel face to adjust it. -

Community Answerif you have a flexible rod with something over half an ounce, then you might be able to but that would be very difficult. -
QuestionHow do I put the line on a new reel?
Community AnswerFirst insert the line through the level (if using a bait caster), then tie an arbor knot on the metal part of the reel and the reel in your line counter-clockwise from the spool. Make sure the line is semi tight and leave enough line to seed through the rest of the rod. -
