How do I block text messages from known senders?

Take the number you don't want texting you, and create a contact using the number. Then, go into the contact and scroll down. Somewhere, it should say "block contact," or something similiar. Click on that to block that number.

If you have an iPhone, you would have to delete the actual conversation yourself manually. They should not disappear on their own, regardless of whether or not you have been blocked.

No. The text history will still be there after you block someone. You will have to also go in and delete the texts.
