Want to leave Apple's Family Sharing? If you're 13 or older with no Screen Time enabled, you can easily do so from your device's settings. Once a member leaves or is removed from a family group, they'll no longer have access to shared files and accounts, including photos, music, and subscriptions. Here's how to leave Family Sharing on an iPhone, iPad, or computer running macOS.
How do I leave Family Sharing?
To leave family sharing on iPhone or iPad, tap Settings and tap Family. Tap your name, and then tap Stop Using Family Sharing. This can't be done if you're under 13 years old or if you have parental controls (Screen Time) enabled.
Steps
Using an iPhone or iPad
-
Open your iPhone or iPad's Settings . You'll usually find it on the home screen. If you are 13 or older and you don't have parental controls enabled, you can remove yourself from a family group.[1] If you're the organizer for the family group, you can remove other members as needed.
- If you are the family organizer, you can't leave the family without disbanding the entire group.
- If you are 13 or older and have parental controls or Screen Time enabled, you cannot remove yourself from a family group.
- It's not possible to remove a child under 13 from your family group. You'll have to transfer them to another group instead. Contact the organizer for the other group and ask that they invite your child to join.[2]
