If the date went well, it’s common for a girl to text you the same night or the very next day. That said, some girls will still follow the “three day rule,” which says that you shouldn’t text someone after a first date for at least three days to avoid appearing desperate. In any case, it’s probably best to not read too much into if your date didn’t text you right away. There are all kinds of potential reasons a girl might not text the day after.

If you’re confident that the date was a success, consider texting the girl first. She might even be waiting to hear from you. After all, there is a common expectation among some people that a girl should never text first, so she may be worried about coming on too strong. Send her a text saying that you had a good time on the date and that you’d like to get together again soon—she’ll appreciate the gesture!

My advice is if you want to see someone again, tell them, “I had a great time. I'd love to see you again.” Honesty is the best policy!
