The Steam Workshop allows you to easily download mods for your Steam games, but how exactly do you get rid of them? In this article, we'll go over how to delete Steam Workshop mods you've added to games. We also have an FAQ with answers to some frequently asked questions about deleting Steam Workshop mods.

Quick Steps

Open the Steam desktop client.
Hover your mouse over Community.
Click Workshop.
Click Your Files on the right-hand side of the page.
Click Subscribed Items.
Click Unsubscribe under any mod you want to delete.

Open Steam. Make sure you're using the Steam desktop client, not the web client or the mobile app.
When you hover your mouse over Community, which is centered at the top of your screen, a menu will drop down.

You'll see this on the right side of the page in the box titled "Your Workshop Files" that you might need to scroll down to find.

Click Subscribed Items. It's in the second box on the right side of the page.
- You'll see a list of everything you are subscribed to in the Steam Workshop.

Hover your mouse over Subscribed and click Unsubscribe. When you hover your mouse over the "Subscribed" button, it will change to "Unsubscribe."
- As soon as you click Unsubscribe, Steam will uninstall that mod from your game. Repeat this process for each mod you want to remove.^{[1]

How do I delete all of the Steam Workshop mods I've got installed at once? In the Subscribed Items menu, click the Unsubscribe From All button under your name. This will delete all of the Steam Workshop mods you've installed across all games.^{[2]

How do I delete a Steam Workshop mod that doesn't have a mod page anymore? Unfortunately, the only way to do this is to delete all of your Steam Workshop mods and redownload the ones you want to keep. Go to your Subscribed Items menu and click Unsubscribe From All, then go back and reinstall the mods you want to keep.^{[3]

What do I do if unsubscribing from a mod doesn't delete it entirely? You may need to delete the mod from your game's files as well. This varies depending on the game. To do this, right-click on the game in your Steam library, go to Manage > Browse local files, then search for an "addons" folder. Delete the addons in this folder to remove them from your game.
- Alternatively, if you've unsubscribed from the mod, you can uninstall and reinstall the game to remove any lingering mod files.
- You can also right-click on a game, choose Properties, and then choose Workshop to view your installed mods. Click the trash can button to delete them.
