   The death of a child can be devastating for anyone. However, there’s no right or wrong way to grieve. Whether you’re thinking of a grieving loved one or mourning a loss yourself, it’s important to remember that everything you or they are feeling—whether it’s anger, sadness, frustration, or relief—is completely normal.

   • (Isaiah 41:10): “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”

   Death often reminds us how special the ones we love are to the world and us. Relying on God during these times of extreme challenge can provide comfort and human connection among those who grieve.    When you lose a grandmother or grandfather, it may be tempting to ignore your pain. However, this may make it worse in the long run—instead, try to face your grief with help from God. If you’re struggling with the loss, licensed clinical social worker Ken Breniman suggests finding “a support group…in a local church or hospital or hospice.”

Bible Verses for the Loss of a Friend

   When someone you love is gone too soon, it can leave you with questions to make sense of the pain and hurt. Breniman says it may help to try “writing a letter to the friend or making plans to visit their grave on an occasional basis.” Through time and faith, this difficult trial can inspire confidence in God’s will and an opportunity for new life.
