Quick Steps to Beat Level 19 On OvO

  1. Slide below the first two sets of spikes with the down arrow ↓ key.
  2. Jump over the spiked wall and vault through the black wall in front of you.
  3. Use the trampoline to wall-jump up to the second floor.
  4. Jump-slide mid-air to get past the spikes without touching the floor or ceiling.
  5. Use the next trampoline to vault up to the third floor (and over the wall).
  6. Jump-slide through two hoops with spikes to reach the flag at the end.

Beating Level 19 in OvO

  1. At the start of the notorious “Little Spikehouse” level, there are two smaller sets of spikes that you can slide right under (by pressing the down arrow ↓ key on your keyboard). You could also try jumping between the spikes above, but that’s harder to do.[1]
  2. Once you’re past the first two spike sets, you’ll come to a wall with a pair of spikes atop. Jump over that wall (by pressing the up arrow ↑ key), and be ready to grab the next wall in front of you mid-jump instead of landing. Get a grip on the wall and throw yourself back up into the air, using a dash combo to jump right through the black wall and over the spikes on the other side.
    • There’s also a trampoline on the ground that you can use to launch yourself up into the air and through the wall, if need be!
    • It’s technically possible to clear the first wall and get through the second all in one jump, but that’s much more challenging.

  3. Now that you’re on the other side of all those spikes, spring up on the trampoline and perform a few wall jumps until you reach the second “floor” of the level. There are three in total—so you’re a third of the way there![2]
    • To perform a wall jump, press the jump button (the up arrow key) near a wall while moving in the opposite direction.
  4. There are two different sets of spikes on the ground, and one long, continuous set covering the ceiling of this floor. Perform a sliding jump mid-air to clear the spikes on the ground without touching the ceiling. As you’re sliding, you’ll also need to get through two “hoops” (holes in the walls), which can be tricky, so it might take a few tries to get right![3]
    • To pull off a jump-side, press the down arrow key to slide, then press the up arrow key to jump in quick succession.
  5. Once you’re past that obstacle and on the other side of the level, getting to the next floor is relatively simple! Just use the trampoline and perform a couple more wall jumps to get up and over the thin black wall above, and onto the third floor.
  6. There’s one small set of spikes near the start of this floor that you can jump over; then, you’ll come to a pair of “hoops” (partial walls coming from the floor and ceiling with spikes on them). Jump-slide through both of these hoops, one at a time—jump, then dash mid-air, getting a running start for both. After that, there’s nothing left to do but claim the flag at the end of the level![4]

About Level 19 In OvO

PDF download Download Article
  1. The Little Spikehouse is a three-floor, S-shaped level in OvO, with its main challenges being strategically-placed spikes and walls that players must find a way to glide through (rather than just jumping over them or sliding under). Once you’ve got the hang of it, level 19 may take around 20 to 30 seconds to complete from start to finish.
    • This level relies on mechanics such as slides, jumps, and wall jumps to navigate.

Strategic Advice for OvO Players

  1. Over the first 10 levels or so, OvO helps its players get accustomed to its core mechanics and required skills. It’s a platformer that focuses on reflexes and hand-eye coordination, as well as repetition and memorization. So, as you play, don’t be afraid to repeat levels if you need to get the hang of the game’s mechanics. Keep practicing until you’re comfortable with the game’s core mechanics:[5]
    • Jumping: In OvO, jumping is dynamic; you can cover more distance by jumping near a wall, or perform consecutive jumps to get as high as possible.
    • Walking: The slowest form of movement in OvO.
    • Sliding: Sliding in OvO is faster than walking, yet slower than wave-dashing.
    • Smash: Smashing cancels your current movement, allowing you to stop or reset if needed.
    • Wall Jump: As mentioned above, wall jumps go higher than regular jumps.
  2. You’ll have some time before level 19 to get familiar with some of the trickier, high-level mechanics and skills used in the game, which is a good thing, since so many players find level 19 to be a frustrating one. The more time you spend practicing your OvO moves, the easier it’ll be to master level 19, so take your time as you learn these more advanced movements:[6]
    • Diving: As fast as sliding (so, faster than walking and slower than wave-dashing). You can dive by sliding, then performing a jump in either direction.
    • Rejump: Rejumping (jumping right after finishing a dive) is one of the fastest ways to move in OvO.
    • Triple jump: Triple-jumping basically means performing three jumps in quick succession to get higher up.
    • Wave dash: Wave-dashing is another of the game’s fastest ways to move, along with rejumping. To wave-dash, just smash twice in a row, then jump in either direction.
    • Super jump: Super-jumping comes with a unique animation, allowing for fast movement and higher jumps.
  3. As we’ve already mentioned, OvO’s levels are pretty hard to beat perfectly after just one try, unless you’re already a master. Even if it takes you a few times to beat level 19, keep at it and be patient with yourself. Try to stay calm; if you feel yourself getting too tense or anxious, take a few deep breaths and relax before continuing. Keep a cool head, and you’ll get there eventually!
  4. If you make a mistake while trying to beat this level (or any other, for that matter), that’s not a bad thing—it’s just an opportunity for you to learn what not to do, and what might help you the next time you play. Analyze your mistakes and come up with a new strategy before redoing the level. A little reflection can help you discover the secret to success!
  5. If you get really frustrated while trying to beat a level, it might be best to walk away and take a breather. Let yourself decompress before picking the game back up! When you return to it refreshed, you might just find it easier to beat the level than you remember.

Is OvO a hard game?

PDF download Download Article
  1. Don’t fret if you’re one of the many players who struggle with it—because OvO is made for struggle. It’s supposed to challenge your reflexes, precision, and ability to time your movements carefully. And think about it this way: the more challenging the level, the greater the sense of satisfaction when you finally clear it.[7]
    • The trick is that OvO’s controls are quite simple—it’s all in your timing and mastery of those controls.
    • That’s why OvO’s first few tutorial levels are so important. Without a firm grasp of the fundamentals, honing your OvO skills (and ability to speed-run the game) is much harder to do.
