Meet the Members of BABYMONSTER (+ Fun Facts!)

Ahyeon: Ahyeon is the lead rapper, lead dancer, and main vocalist in BABYMONSTER. She’s also considered to be the leader or face of the group, especially since she also holds the “visual” role, meaning that she’s one of the most conventionally attractive according to Korean beauty standards. Overall, Ahyeon (who was born in South Korea) is known for having strong all-around performance skills, as well as powerful vocals and a captivating stage presence.

  • Fun fact! During her rise to fame, she was often called a “Jennie lookalike,” which refers to BLACKPINK’s Jennie.


Ruka: Ruka is a main dancer and a main rapper in BABYMONSTER. She specializes in hip-hop dancing, but she also has impressive vocals that allow her to easily reach high notes. Born in Japan, Ruka is one of the first Japanese idols to debut under YG Entertainment (alongside her bandmate, Asa). She was also the last member of the group to be officially shown on February 6th, 2023.

Pharita: Pharita is a main vocalist in BABYMONSTER, and she’s also a sub dancer and “visual,” meaning that she’s commonly designated as one of the most conventionally attractive (within Korean beauty standards). Pharita is one of two Thai members of the group, along with Chiquita. She’s also known for her excellent English skills and a strong stage presence.

  • Fun fact! Pharita’s uses the nicknames Lookpear (ลูกแพร์) and Pear (แพร).


Asa: Asa is a main rapper, main dancer, and lead vocalist in BABYMONSTER. The Japanese idol has a strong stage presence and is known for her ability to rap even the quickest of verses. Asa actually began dancing and training in the second grade, but it all paid off when she became one of the first Japanese female idols to debut under YG Entertainment.

  • Fun fact! Asa is from the remote Ogasawara Islands off of Tokyo, Japan.


Rami: Rami is a main vocalist in BABYMONSTER, but she’s also known as an “all-rounder” who can sing, dance, and model professionally. She has a unique voice and adventurous personality, and many fans compare her to BLACKPINK’s Rosé. Rami is also known to take an active part in songwriting and choreography for BABYMONSTER’s projects.

  • Fun fact! Rami started in the industry at age two as a child model.


Rora: Rora is a lead vocalist and lead dancer in BABYMONSTER. She’s also a “visual,” or a person in the group who easily fits into conventional Korean beauty standards. With a unique background, Rora actually started out as a child actress who debuted at age 9 in the kids’ group U.SSO Girl. Later, she acted in dramas like A Korean Odyssey and Queen of Mystery 2 before joining BABYMONSTER.

  • Fun fact! Rora belongs to the Jeonju Lee clan, meaning she’s linked to Korean royalty through her heritage.


Chiquita: Chiquita is a vocalist and lead dancer. She’s also the youngest in the group, so she’s often referred to as “maknae,” which means “youngest.” Originally from Thailand, Chiquita only had a 3-month training period before joining BABYMONSTER. However, her fearless spirit and raw talent made her an immediate fan favorite.

  • Fun fact! Chiquita was the last member to join the group.
