How do I photograph nails for engagement photos?

Make sure you use a clean background. It could be a dress, a table, or anything that’s not distracting. Also, although it's not required, it’s best to use a Macro lens for these type of photos. It allows you to really get awesome closeups.

How can I take my own professional business portraits?

You don't need a professional studio setup, but you'll still need to keep a couple of things in mind. For the lighting, make sure it's a cloudy day or you're in the shade. Face toward the direction of the light—you don't want any shadows on your face. Also, make sure there's a clean background without any extra people, objects, colors, etc. that would distract from you. If you're shooting in manual mode with your camera, anywhere from 1.4-2.8 would work best.

What type of lens should I use for close-up shots?

A Macro lens for close-ups would work really well. It will help you capture any unique or interesting details on the bag.
